  • 1 jar 12 oz / 340 g wheat germ
  • 1 box 16 oz / 454 g Total cereal (or similar whole-grain, vitamin-rich cereal)

  • 10 envelopes ≈100 g total unflavored gelatin
  • 10 raw eggs shells optional, but nutritious if finely ground
  • 1 pinch salt

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Food processor (optional, for grinding cereal or eggshells)
  • Gloves (for mixing by hand)
  • Freezer-safe containers or zip-lock bags

Method

Crush and Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl or tub, crush the Total cereal into smaller bits. Mix with instant oatmeal, wheat germ, unflavored gelatin, and a pinch of salt.
Add Wet Ingredients
  1. Stir in the molasses, chosen oil (vegetable, olive, or coconut), and raw eggs. If using eggshells, grind them finely before mixing.
Incorporate Ground Meat
  1. Add the ground beef or turkey to the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly by hand (using gloves), until it forms a consistent, sticky dough-like mixture.
Form Balls
  1. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized balls or desired size portions. Place them on a baking tray or directly into storage containers lined with parchment paper.
Store Properly
  1. Freeze the satin ball recipe for dogs in layers, separating with wax paper if needed. Defrost in the fridge before feeding. Serve raw as a treat or meal topper.
