- Start by gathering your chicken bones and vegetables. Chop the carrot and celery into large chunks. These will add nutrients and flavor to the broth without overwhelming your dog.
- Place the chicken bones, chopped vegetables, apple cider vinegar, and water into your stockpot or slow cooker. The vinegar helps break down the bones, releasing essential minerals like calcium.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low. Let it simmer uncovered for about 2 hours. If you’re using a slow cooker, set it on low and cook for 6-8 hours for an even richer broth.
- After cooking, carefully strain the broth through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl. Discard the solids, as they can be too hard or salty for your dog.
- Let the broth cool completely. Pour it into airtight containers and refrigerate. It keeps for about 3-4 days in the fridge or up to 3 months in the freezer.

Avoid adding salt, onions, garlic, or any seasoning harmful to dogs. Always check with your vet before introducing new foods, especially if your dog has health issues.
