Beef Liver Dog Treats Recipe

Beef liver dog treats are protein-rich, nutritious, and easy to make. Start by slicing fresh beef liver, then bake or dehydrate until fully dried. These treats are high in iron, vitamins A and B, and make an excellent occasional snack. Always serve in moderation due to richness. Store in an airtight container or freeze for longer shelf life. Dogs love the strong, meaty flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh beef liver rinsed and trimmed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil plus extra if needed for blending

Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Knife or pizza cutter

Method

Step 1:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
Step 2:
  1. Place the trimmed beef liver in a blender or food processor. Pulse until it becomes a smooth paste. If it’s too thick, add a small amount of vegetable oil to help blend.
Step 3:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, eggs, and blended liver mixture. Stir until well combined into a thick batter-like consistency. It should be spreadable, not too runny.
Step 4:
  1. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking sheet (about 1/4 inch thick). Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes or until firm and dry. Once cooled, cut into small bite-sized squares using a knife or pizza cutter.
